Who am I? And, why does that matter to you?
I am Joe Asterino – father, husband, coach, and trusted real estate advisor.
I won’t bore you with where I lived, where I grew up, and what brought me here…
I will tell you that I have been involved in the real estate industry for the better part of 3 decades! My first gig out of college was working in the sub-prime lending arena as a wholesale lender. Basically, we provided the cash to the table at settlement. This taught me a lot about credit reporting and rating – and how to best navigate that system.
I spent a couple of years in the IT business in sales and marketing. But, a desk job just wasn’t my thing. One of my clients at the time was a local new home builder – Berks Homes. I landed a sales associate position with them, working in their model homes, in 2004.
While working with Berks Homes, I received the most robust and well-rounded real estate education that I’ve come across in my 30 years in the industry. I surely learned the ins and outs of the typical real estate transaction – but, I also learned to work with clients on a specific deadline, managing expectations and customer service that creates “Raving Fans.”
I moved from a sales associate to Sales Director, and ultimately even served as Broker of Record – overseeing all transactions for Berks Homes’ multi-state production.
After Berks, I spent some time with Keystone Custom Homes in 2009 where I was named their “Sales MVP” for the year.
I jumped into the self-employed real estate world in 2010 – in the height of the worst real estate recession in our lifetimes. While others were getting out of the business – I jumped in full force and became an expert on Short Sales, Foreclosures, and distressed property sales.
I developed my clientele by offering free property tax appeals – ultimately saving my clients hundreds of thousands of dollars, collectively, every year. Individual clients have realized savings nearing $100k in the time since I’ve done their appeal – all for free.
I reconnected with a passion of my past – wrestling - and became an assistant coach with Exeter Township High School. In that time, as a staff, we took a program from 2-3 wins per season to the 2017 PIAA District III Team Title. We qualified for the state tournament 4 consecutive years, and crowned our first PIAA State Champion in school history.
Today, I still coach wrestling. I still sell a lot of real estate. But, most importantly, I serve as a resource for the community, answering questions regarding value, market conditions, property tax, investments, commercial properties, and construction questions. I’ve surrounded myself with a group of fantastic customers – from first time buyer’s to multi-million portfolios – and I am here to share their experience, along with mine, with you.
